Sidey.... yeah I think the Thomas, Davis, Roecastle was more of a reason than just Iam Wright.... that and having Denton as there number one top boy.... like people said big Mick following... then again big Irish community all around that area... Mick pubs galore back in the 80's also

There is no reason for the number of Asian Liverpool fans other than GLORY HUNTING
The only Notts Forest fans I have ever met became fans in the late 70’s for some reason.

Michael Thomas, Gus Caesar, Chris Whyte, Viv Anderson, Paul Davis, David Rocastle ALL there before Ian Wright and most of them major Arsenal players in their time there.
I've always seen Arsenal as having a strong black following and i know plenty who are born here and in their fifties and have always supported Arsenal.

Crass that's interesting mate. I knew about the Irish connection only too well. When i was shipped over to London as a kid to live with my Uncle, him and a load of his mates was all gooners.
The black connection has always seemed more spurious and intrigued me. I did just think it was about the number of black players they had under Wenger. The Ian Wright thing, I'm not so sure. Sounds like the excuse of a bunch of glory hunters to me. As Sven rightly points out, why didn't they become Palace fans?
What is the Asian Liverpool connection anyway? Never got that either.
Anyway fuck it, no winners tonight.
